CLEVELAND — The U.S. Marshals' Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has arrested Gianni Gray, wanted for a double murder in Cleveland that took place nearly two years ago.
Gray was found at a residence near 121st Street and Union Avenue in the city. He is accused of killing Malachia Perez Stewart III and Andre Williams, as well as injuring a 24-year-old woman, with an assault rife at the West 117th Street ramp on Interstate 90.
The investigation led Marshals to follow leads across the eastern United States including Florida and Michigan. In partnership with the Cleveland Police and Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office, the task force developed new information as to Gray's whereabouts, and he was taken into custody on Tuesday
"Gianni Gray has been distancing himself from law enforcement for too long," Marshal Pete Elliot said in a statement. "This investigation was led by a Cleveland Police Sergeant assigned to our task force who vowed to never give up on this case."
The release also states that Rodney Blane Harper, an associate of Gray, was arrested for parole violations. Three firearms were recovered from the scene of the arrest, including one machine gun.
Gray is also a suspect in a double shooting down in Florida from 2015.
