CLEVELAND — A 19-year-old man wanted for a homicide in Cleveland has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals' Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF)
Rodeny Curlee was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for the killing of his brother last month on the city's east side.
Curlee was found Thursday by task force members at a home in the 1800 block of Reyburn Road in Cleveland.
Marshals say Curlee was hiding in the basement of the residence and was not responding to the commands of officers. A K9 officer then told Curlee he would release the K9 into the home to arrest him. Curlee surrendered to task force members and was taken into custody without incident.
According to the Cleveland Division of Police, on Oct. 3, officers responded to a call from the 500 block of East 127th Street. Police found 23-year-old Tymeir Hale-Dial on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper back and head. Curlee and his brother Dial allegedly got into a verbal fight, then Curlee took out a gun an shot Dial several times.
A warrant was issued for Curlee’s arrest a day after the homicide occurred.
“Another violent fugitive was taken off the streets today due to the efforts of the Cleveland Division of Police and our fugitive task force. Our officers worked diligently to apprehend this fugitive as quickly and safely as possible," said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
