SHEFFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio — Sheffield Village Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old woman.
On Thursday, just before 10 a.m., officials in Sheffield Village responded to a call for a shooting in the McDonald's parking lot on Detroit Road. According to dispatch, a person was shooting into a vehicle in the parking lot.
At the scene, a 24-year-old woman was found shot inside of her vehicle. She later died as a result of the injuries sustained during the shooting. Her identity has not yet been released.
A motive or details surrounding the shooting remain unknown at this time. A person of interest, identified as James Kimbrough, is wanted in connection to the fatal shooting. Kimbrough also has outstanding warrants unrelated to the shooting investigation.

The owner of the McDonalds where the shooting took place confirmed that the victim was an employee at the fast food chain and expressed his condolences in a statement to 3News.
"We are devastated by the tragic loss of our team member and friend. Our hearts are with our employee's family and loved ones," said owner John House. "Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and customers, and we're working closely with law enforcement in their investigation."
Sheffield Village Police and Ohio BCI members are still at the scene. The investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing.
