CLEVELAND — Cleveland State University announced Wednesday that it will hold its spring commencement in-person at Progressive Field on Saturday, May 15.
To allow for social distancing, commencement will be held in two separate ceremonies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Guests will be limited. Cleveland State says commencement will ensure to follow all SAFE at Progressive Field protocols that are currently in effect for bringing fans back into the ballpark.
“I can’t think of a more appropriate event to begin our pathway back to a ‘new normal,’ where we can celebrate in-person after a year in which the pandemic pushed us away from personal contact and social norms,” said CSU president Harlan M. Sands. “I am particularly grateful for the hard work of our CSU pandemic response team, which has helped drive our reputation as a leader in its pandemic response.”
The university says commencement will be held rain or shine. Details are being finalized and will be shared when available. In addition, updates can be found on CSU’s commencement webpage.
