Cuyahoga Community College has long been referred to as "Tri-C." Now, the school has added a unique twist to its name.
Tri-C on Thursday unveiled a creative new "Triceratops" logo for both the school and its athletic teams. The name itself was chosen back in October following a poll of students, staff, and alumni.
“A mascot serves as a unifying symbol that connects students and alumni to their College. It’s a recognizable symbol that builds engagement and a sense of community,” Tri-C President Alex Johnson said. “As of today, we stand together as the Tri-C Triceratops.”
The "formidable yet likable" logo feature's the school's trademark teal coloring and was designed with the help of Studio Simon. It will appear on gym floors and athletic uniforms starting with the 2019-20 academic year.
Additionally, fans can purchase merchandise featuring the image beginning this Jan. 14 at the Tri-C bookstore both in-person and online.
