'I'm going to the Super Bowl' | Lorain City Schools principal wins trip to Super Bowl LVIII

The Browns Foundation and the Stay In The Game! Network gifted Nikole Davis a trip for two to the Super Bowl for what she does to make school worth attending.

LORAIN, Ohio — A beloved local principal will get to experience this Sunday’s Super Bowl from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas thanks to the Cleveland Browns Foundation and the Stay In The Game! Network.

Nikole Davis, the principal at General Johnnie Wilson Middle School in Lorain, is the recipient of a trip for two to the big game, which includes game tickets, accommodations, and airfare.

“I was like 'wait a minute, I'm going to the Super Bowl,’” Davis screams.

The Stay In The Game! Network partners with 53 schools across the state to improve student attendance.

This is the first year GJW Middle School participated in the program.  The foundation wanted to honor an educator who makes school worth attending.

Out of more than 200 nominations, Davis took home the top prize this past December.

“Just the heartfelt nominations we received for Ms. Davis you could just really tell that she really goes out of her way to make her students feel appreciated and seen and supported,” says Cleveland Browns Foundation Vice President Renee Harvey.

Davis says she uses themed days like Pajama Day or Army Fatigue Day to get students excited about coming to school.

“I do a lot of national days,” Davis shares. “If it’s National Hot Chocolate Day, they’ll get hot chocolate, and they don’t even know it but they’re always seeking to see what is going to happen next at General Johnnie Wilson.”

Davis says everything she does is from the heart.

“I love my kids. I love this community. I just love being a part of Lorain City Schools,” Davis says. “I'm so thankful that I had this opportunity to represent them well.”
