KENT, Ohio — Remember Cribs on MTV? This is our own version... Dorm style.
We sent Jasmine Monroe to Kent State University to find the most decked-out dorms on campus. From the snacks to the posters and the seemingly endless supply of deodorant, these college kids are living in style.
Our tour took us through two different dorms in Kent State's Centennial Court D building, which you can watch in the videos within this story.
But what if you're looking to make your dorm life cooler this semester? We spoke to expert Ashley Fultz with Society6, and she shared tips and ideas to turn your college dorm room into a stylish and efficient space for studying, relaxing and hanging out.
Her easiest suggestions?
- Make the most of your space. When designing your room make sure you stack decor vertical because it gives you more space to work with inside your room.
- Find your personal style and create your own space.
- Don’t leave those walls bare. Hang a poster.
- Lighting is key. You can use Christmas lights to make your room cozy. String them along the wall to make your art pop.
- Use storage bins.
