The Geauga Park District is offering a learning fair for families who homeschool in Geauga County.

The event is called Homeschool Days: Family Learning Fair, held on August 26 at The West Woods in Novelty.

Families are invited to participate in "fun activities and gather information from Geauga County organizations that offer educational opportunities for homeschool students," a news release said.

Those interested need to register in advance online at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or by phone at 440-286-9516.

There are two sessions: 10:30am to 12pm or 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Participating families are encouraged to spend an hour or more at the event. And, after checking in, each student will get a passport to check off all the organizations he or she visits at the event.

If you complete the passport, you can earn a raffle ticket for prizes from the following organizations.

  • University Hospitals – Prize wheel and hands-only CPR demonstrations
  • Women United United Way – book giveaway
  • Geauga Park District – explore a meadow with a naturalist (nets provided)
  • Geauga County Public Library – bee crafts and resources
