Kent State University names Dr. Todd Diacon new president

KENT, Ohio — Kent State University on Monday announced that Dr. Todd Diacon has been named the school's new president.

The university's board of trustees elected Diacon by unanimous vote, according to a letter sent to students, alumni and faculty on Monday.

Diacon will be the university's 13th president, effective July 1. 

Diacon, who is currently the executive vice president and provost, replaces President Beverly Warren, who spent five years as the university's leader.

An open meet and greet reception with Diacon is scheduled Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the university's Center for Undergraduate Excellence.
