Learning from princesses and superheroes: Character entertainment company provides free educational videos for kids

Spectacular Party Entertainment has provided science lessons from The Little Mermaid, art with Alice in Wonderland and math with a superhero.

CLEVELAND — A science lesson with The Little Mermaid, art with Alice in Wonderland and math with a superhero.

It can be a reality for your child.

Northeast Ohio-based character entertainment company, Spectacular Party Entertainment, is offering video lessons from these characters, and many more, all for free!

“We understand that parents are going through a lot right now,” says Creative Director Miranda Schossler. “We're trying to put a little bit of educational content in the mix between doing the creative stuff and the fun stuff and also having a little bit of fun schooling in their as well.”

Schossler, who runs the company with her husband, Branden, says Spectacular Party Entertainment typically provides character entertainment for local events. But with the cancellation of social gatherings due to the coronavirus, the company has switched course during the outbreak.

“There are so many families who are suffering right now,” says Schossler. “Giving back to our community right now is so much more important.”

Eight of the Spectacular Party Entertainment’s 50 cast members are volunteering to produce daily live streams from the company's Facebook page and a special VIP group.

“It gives us something to look forward to,” says stay-at-home Christine Baucco.

Baucco's 5-year-old daughter Gianna first met characters from Spectacular Party Entertainment two years ago when she was hospitalized because of her epilepsy. Gianna consistently watches the live streams and says they make her feel happy.

The company is also taking personalized video requests and FaceTime and Google Hangout calls for a donation. All money raised will go to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
