CLEVELAND — Lori Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying $500k to get their daughters into USC, and now federal prosecutors say Loughlin's motion to dismiss the charges against her is not good enough.
Loughlin and Giannulli claim prosecutors withheld evidence that they believed showed their exchange of money to a staff member at The University of Southern California as a donation and not a bribe. The couple’s daughters were accepted into USC as members of the rowing team despite neither of them rowing.
In a new filing, prosecutors say that just because the word ‘bribe’ wasn't used, this does not mean that Loughlin wasn't part of a scheme to get her two daughters into the school illegally. A judge has yet to rule on the motion to dismiss, and trial is set for October.
