GEAUGA COUNTY -- The Middlefield Township man accused of kidnapping a 2-year-old boy and then trying to give him away on a street court has a court date.
Seth Malko, 21, is scheduled to be before Chardon Municpal Court Judge Terri L. Stupica at 10 a.m. Tuesday on charges of burglary and kidnapping.
Court records show that attorney R. Robert Umholtz is representing Malko.
Malko was arraigned Monday and his bond set at $150,000 cash or surety bond.
Middlefield Police and Geauga County Sheriff Dan McClelland said that Malko was at the corner of Hayes and Kinsman roads in Middlefield just before 12:30 a.m. Monday and was trying to give the boy away.
Police say Malko had apparently entered an unlocked apartment and removed the 2-year-old.
Another 9-1-1 call sent police to an apartment where Malko was holding the boy. Police officers who talked with Malko said he was delusional and admitted to recreational narcotics use. The boy was returned to parents unharmed. Police said the parents never even knew the boy was missing.
