CLEVELAND — It seems every few minutes there's a new advance in science, healthcare and technology and tomorrow's ideas are being thought of today.
Today leaders from academia, government, industry and healthcare joined to share ideas grounded in science about what the future frontier will look like.
Among them is the director of the government's youngest new agency, ARPA-H, Renee Wegrzyn, Ph.D.
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health is two years old and has a mission to solve some of the most complex health issues facing us today. However, the way it approaches those solutions is different than other government agencies.
Unlike the NIH that provides research grants, ARPA-H has a seat at the table with the innovators. Program managers recruit teams that compete to find solutions and everything is done with a sense of urgency not typically seen in most of science.
