1,200 coronavirus cases, 43 fatalities confirmed among Cleveland residents, Department of Health reports

There are 28,454 confirmed and probable of cases of coronavirus in Ohio.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Department of Health reported two new coronavirus related deaths and 33 new confirmed cases among Cleveland residents, Monday. 

The deceased include a person in their 60's and a person in their 90's. The new deaths raise the city's death toll to 43. 

The new cases include both men and women ranging in age from less than 1-year-old to their 90's. There are currently 1,200 confirmed cases among residents.

On Monday, Mayor Jackson issued a statement in regards to the over-crowding seen at several local business over the weekend. 

Violating the State’s guidelines for the reopening of businesses is something the City of Cleveland takes very seriously,” said Mayor Jackson. “We will continue to monitor this situation and will be developing a policy to address the actions of habitual offenders.”

Cleveland Police will continue to respond to call of violations of health order after responding to nearly 30 calls over the weekend. 

The Ohio Department of Health reports there are currently 28,454 confirmed and probable cases, 4,998 hospitalization with 1,657 deaths across the state of Ohio.
