CLEVELAND — Given how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the livelihood of families across Northeast Ohio, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank is in need of your financial support so they can continue to provide fresh produce and emergency food boxes containing seven days of nonperishable food to families, seniors and individuals who need it.
If you or someone you know would like to help, go to www.Greaterclevelandfoodbank.org/give.
Thanks to a generous donor, all gifts will be matched, up to $100,000. Every $1 can help provide 8 nutritious meals with this special match.
The economic impacts of COVID-19 to individuals and families can not be overlooked. To put things into perspective, as of Sunday, March 8th, 536 unemployment claims were filed through the State of Ohio. That number swelled to 36,645 as of Monday, March 16th. With so many Ohioans out of work, providing a nutritious meal to your family will become more challenging. If you or your loved ones are in need of food, feel free to connect with the Great Cleveland Food Bank - The Help Center’s phone number is 216-738-2067.
Large organized groups of volunteers have had to cancel their involvement with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank; however, if you’re able to step up and would like to help, here is the best way to connect to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s volunteer services: www.Greaterclevelandfoodbank.org/volunteer
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is holding their monthly produce distribution today which will be a drive-thru style; however, they ask that cars not begin lining up until after 3:00pm. Please practice patience given the larger than normal turnouts expected. The Cleveland Police and County Sheriff will be there to support traffic control efforts.
