MENTOR, Ohio — On Thursday, Lake County General Health District released recommended guidelines for faith-based services as the coronavirus continues to affect communities across the state.
The Health District recommends that for now services stay online, "to encourage at risk members to stay at home. This will also encourage those who are afraid to still feel they are participating."
But, if services are held in person the LCGHD says attendees should check their temperature, and if it's above 100.4 degrees, stay home.
The LCGHD outlined other best practices including:
- adhering to social distancing (spacing out of at least six feet.)
- propping doors to minimize high touch areas like door handles
- regularly cleaning of high contact areas
- wearing face masks
Overall the recommendations echo those of ODH and Governor Mike DeWine — clean, keep your distance, minimize touch and groups whenever you can and stay home if possible.
The Health District says that these recommendations may change as the Ohio Department of Health's recommendations change. They're also willing to review any plans organizations come up with, but that the Health District doesn't need to approve plans before services are held.
