CLEVELAND — All over the world, researchers are moving quickly to find a vaccine for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
Giant leaps are being made right here in Cleveland at Case Western Reserve University.
An international team of scientists, including Blanton Tolbert of Case Western Reserve and his team of researchers, are on the forefront of developing a way to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. A recent breakthrough with the Eterovirus (EV71) has given Tolbert and his colleagues hope to take on this new coronavirus.
This team of international researchers are hoping to get funding for their work from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). With the recent success of their EV71 research they're confident the NIH will aid their continued research. "The bottom line is that we believe we are equipped and ready to go, and we can make a difference."
