CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — As coronavirus continues impacting businesses throughout the country, Cuyahoga County officials have announced more funding to assist those facing financial hurdles amid the pandemic.
“We have to help more of our small businesses to get through this,” Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish said during a press conference Friday.
Budish announced round two of the county’s small business stabilization fund, which provides a total of $2 million in grants.
“With this new round we anticipate being able to help 600 more local small businesses throughout our county with grants from $2,500 to $5,000,” Budish said.
These grants are available for small businesses with 25 employees or less.
Budish said the following businesses will be prioritized with these grants: Service industry like restaurants, bars, personal care, cosmetology, hospitality, neighborhood health care, grocers, general contracting, construction and manufacturing.
“We’ll be giving special preference to business owners with a personal residence in Cuyahoga County and businesses in low-to-moderate income Census tracks,” he added.
Grants will begin distribution during the week of May 26.
