AKRON, Ohio — Editor's Note: The above video features reporting on test kits in Ohio
Summit County Public Health has announced that it will be closing its COVID-19 drive-thru testing site due to a "significant decrease in demand."
The site, located at 1077 Gorge Blvd. in Akron, will cease operations as of Monday, January 17. The test site will be open from Thursday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will honor all appointments, as well as those needing tests who show up without an appointment.
Testing is free and open to everyone. Summit County Public Health officials say there are currently several convenient appointment times still available for the remaining dates. Please register by clicking here. Testing is limited to ages 2 and older.
The site will offer PCR tests. Individuals will receive their results in 2-3 days. Masks are required at all times with the exception of when you are tested.
