Those who are traveling on United Airlines can put their minds at ease a little, as the airline has unveiled two new initiatives to help keep fliers safe both at the airport and onboard their aircrafts.
The new initiatives that went into effect today are simple but effective.
In United terminals inside the airport, customers will now have access to new, touchless kiosks where you can print your own baggage tags.
Once onboard any United flight, the second initiative is providing hand sanitizing wipes to any customer who would like one.
As of last week, everyone onboard a United flight, including crew, is required to wear a mask. It's recommended that passengers bring their own, but masks will also be provided at the gate.
"We've also overhauled our cleaning procedures, including through the use of something called an electrostatic sprayer," United SVP & Chief Communication Officer Josh Earnest said. "We purchased 750 of these devices, which are ordinarily used to disinfect a hospital room, we are going to be using them to disinfect the interior of our aircraft. And starting next month we'll be using this device before every single flight."
These new initiatives rolled out today are in addition to an extensive list of other cleaning policies and procedures. An updated list of measures can be found on United's website at united.com/keepingyousafe.
