Laketran, Lake County's public transit agency, will provide free rides to Cleveland State's Wolstein Center when the COVID-19 mass vaccination site officially starts on Wednesday, March 17.
The rides will be provided from 8:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday from Laketran's new Frank J. Polivka Transit Center at Lakeland Community College.
Laketran Local Route 1,2,3,6,8 and 9 can get riders to the Laketran Transit Center at Lakeland Community College and from there to a speical Vaccination Shuttle to Cleveland.
Shuttle service will depart every 30 minutes from 8:15 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. Free parking is available at the Transit Center at 7601 Clocktower Drive in Kirtland.
Once passengers arrive in Cleveland, Laketran will layover at RTA's Stephanie Tubbs Jones Transit Center, which is near the Wolstein Center.
Laketran plans to operate the shuttle to downtown Cleveland and back to Kirtland throughout the duration of the eight-week vaccination program at CSU's Wolstein Center.
Laketran is also providing free transportation on its in county local routes and Dial-aRide service when passengers need to get to their vaccine appointments.
Reservations to travel to the Wolstein Center are required at least one day in advance by calling 440-354-6100.
