On Friday, there was an exciting announcement made about a new service called WHO Health Alert. This service is not only free worldwide, but it will also answer questions about the Coronavirus 24 hours a day.
Other aspects of this service include tips on how to protect yourself from infection, travel advice, and it will debunk myths on the Coronavirus.
The new service will also provide government decision-makers with the latest data on the virus.
In a press release, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO said: “Digital technology gives us an unprecedented opportunity for vital health information to go viral and spread faster than the pandemic, helping us save lives and protect the vulnerable. We are proud to have partners like Facebook and Whatsapp, that are supporting us in reaching billions of people with important health information.”
Right now, this service has been launched in English. However, within weeks it be available in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish.
