CLEVELAND — If you use the government's health insurance marketplace, now is the time to check your coverage.
The recently passed American Rescue Act doesn't only include provisions that provide stimulus checks to most Americans. Congress also included a $34 billion expansion to the plan that applies to Americans using COBRA. The bill also changed the subsidies for the program, so there's a chance you may be able to pay less for your coverage.
3News Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins spoke with insurance broker Tim McNichols at LIG Solutions. He says you can do this yourself by visiting healthcare.gov, or you can contact an insurance broker who can help you navigate what is the best coverage for you and your family.
When searching for a broker to help you find coverage, the one thing you do not want to do is start Googling for names. The state of Ohio has curated a list of licensed agencies and brokers, which makes it easy to find one that fits your needs. CLICK HERE for the Ohio Department of Insurance Licensed Agency locator.
