MetroHealth unveils plans for new health campus

MetroHealth will reveal its vision for the transformation of its campus and the surrounding West 25th Street neighborhood at its first annual stakeholders meeting.

CLEVELAND -- MetroHealth will reveal its vision for the transformation of its campus and the surrounding West 25th Street neighborhood at its first annual stakeholders meeting today. The free event, is open to the public.

The meeting will be held from 8 to 10 a.m., at the Cleveland Convention Center, Grand Ballroom C, 300 Lakeside Ave., Cleveland 44113.

"There are so many innovative things happening at MetroHealth," said Akram Boutros, MD, President and CEO of MetroHealth, "and we are excited to engage and activate the community in our plans for the future."

Dr. Boutros will talk about MetroHealth's financial performance and plans for transforming the delivery of healthcare to the residents of Cuyahoga County. MetroHealth will also use the opportunity to launch a community conversation about the revitalization of its 3 million-square-foot main campus and the surrounding community.

"Our new campus will not just be a medical center, but a confirmation of MetroHealth as a community asset for all of the people of Cuyahoga County," said Boutros. "We are excited to invite active engagement with all of our stakeholders, both through this meeting and in the months ahead."

While its monthly board meetings are open to the public, this is the first time MetroHealth is making access easier for the entire community.

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and City of Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson will welcome the gathering of local citizens and government, business and community leaders.
