3News' Monica Robins makes guest appearance on 'Little Detours' podcast with New York Times bestselling author Regina Brett

The episode covers the topic of 'owning your recovery'

CLEVELAND — 3News' Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins dropped by the 'Little Detours' podcast this week to discuss her own road to recovery after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in July of 2019.

The podcast, which aims to 'create a life you love out of the life you have' is hosted by Clevelander and New York Times bestselling author Regina Brett.

It all started with an eye that wouldn't stop tearing. WKYC-TV Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins had covered everyone else's health issues in her 30 years as a broadcast journalist. Now it was time to cover hers. On July 2, 2019, she got the diagnosis: She had a brain tumor.

Monica tells Brett about her struggles before and after her diagnosis, as well as facing each day with 'humor and grace.'

'I had no time to worry about the past,' Monica says in the podcast episode, 'I didn’t know if I was going to have a future, so the most comfortable place you can be, truly, is present.'
