3News' Jay Crawford and Dave Chudowsky say goodbye to the beards after taking part in No-Shave November to help A Special Wish Cleveland

'I have never had a full beard, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out,' Chudowsky said.

CLEVELAND — Things got a bit hairy at WKYC for the last few weeks -- but the No-Shave November journey is coming to an end today for 3News' Dave Chudowsky and Jay Crawford.

Both Chudowsky and Crawford went beard-to-beard throughout the month to help a good cause.

“I’ve never done this before," Chudowsky told 3News' Hollie Strano when he first took on the task back on Nov. 8. "I have never had a full beard, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. But again, all for a great cause.”

Their beard-growing efforts were done to help raise money for A Special Wish Foundation and their "No Shave No Trim WishVember." All the money raised during the campaign will help grant a wish for a child from the A Special Wish Foundation who is battling a life-threatening disease.

Throughout the last 30 days, 15 local police departments and 3News helped raise more than $31,000 for the cause.

A Special Wish is currently helping to care for more than 300 children across Northeast Ohio.

The local initiative with various Northeast Ohio police departments began in 2017.
