Southwest General Health Center eases visitor restrictions

All visitors will be subjected to health screenings upon arrival.

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio — Southwest General Health Center has announced in a press release Thursday that they are adjusting their visitor restrictions effective immediately.

Patients on the general medical and surgical floors, as well as the hospital's Oakview Behavioral Health Services location, will now be allowed one visitor per day. A mandatory health screening will still be performed on all visitors.

"Once a visitor has entered a patient room, they must remain in the patient's room throughout the duration of the visit," the release states. "Once a visitor leaves the room, he or she must depart the facility directly - they will not be permitted any further visits on that date."

There will be no visitors allowed to see patients confirmed with COVID-19 or anyone under investigation for the virus. All visitors and employees are required to wear face masks

In the maternity ward, one adult visitor will be allowed to stay for the duration of the mom's hospital stay, including overnight.

Further information on the hospital's policies can be found on their website.
