CLEVELAND — A nurse at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital has received a special award for her contributions in the health care industry.
NICU nurse Ronda McCaskey has been named "4moms' First Annual NICU Nurse of the Year" for 2022. The award is sponsored by Project Sweet Peas, a national non-profit organization supporting NICUs and NICU families, and 4moms, makers of baby gear.
“I was completely surprised and honored to be named 4moms first ever NICU Nurse of the Year,” said Ronda McCaskey. “Reading through all the nominations was truly special. It’s nice to be reminded how important the work we all do in the NICU really is to our families, patients, and co-workers.”
McCaskey will be receiving an award of $4,000, a care package from 4moms and partner brands, and 20 brand-new MamaRoo Multi-Motion Baby Swings for her hospital, UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital.
“4moms is thrilled to be honoring the incredible work that Ronda McCaskey does at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s,” said Debbie Lee, CMO of 4moms. “We hope our donation of MamaRoo Swings to the NICU will further help Ronda and her colleagues with their lifesaving work at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's.”
The "MamaRoo Swing" is a device currently in use in over 650 hospitals across all 50 states. It is used to help safely contain and comfort babies in fragile physical states while their families can't be there.
