CLEVELAND — Everyday life and work for those in the medical field has certainly changed over the last several weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak. One University Hospitals physician in Cleveland is hoping to help fellow healthcare workers who need to take precautionary measures in order to mitigate the spread of the virus.

In a YouTube video post, Joan Zoltanski of University Hospitals shared a unique, yet simple way for healthcare workers to keep their personal phones that they bring home from work, clean and sanitized.

Zoltanski begins her video post (which you can watch below) by thanking healthcare workers that are on the front lines helping those that are suffering during this unprecedented pandemic. Zoltanski then shares her personal experience of trying to keep her phone clean because it is one of the few items that she uses both at the hospital and at home.

Using a simple formula, Zoltanski explains that she puts her cell phone in a plastic ziplock bag when she is at the hospital. Despite the phone being in the plastic bag, it is still fully functional. Zoltanski explained she still has the ability to text and talk on the phone (on speaker) with the phone in the ziplock back.

After Zoltanski returns home, she explains that she throws away the bag and disinfects the cell phone again with an alcohol-based cleaner.

Below is the helpful video Zoltanski shared for her fellow healthcare workers on YouTube.
