CLEVELAND — For the second year in a row, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation has recognized WKYC Studios with a Gracie Award, spotlighting women in media and recognizing those who have made "inspirational contributions to the industry."
3News Special Projects Executive Producer Jessica Miller received the Producer-Edited (TV-Local) award for her work putting together the "Health, Hope and Healing" series featuring former Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Action.
"Health, Hope & Healing" was created to help provide context and science to critical public health issues. Jessica and Dr. Acton teamed up to shine a light on the loneliness epidemic and food insecurity.
Also, WKYC Studios received an Honorable Mention in the Soft News Feature (TV-Local) category for “Meet the women of Chagrin Valley Fire,” spotlighting the seven women on the Chagrin Valley Fire Department, a significant number for a field traditionally dominated by men. The story, reported by Isabel Lawrence, aired on Sunday GO! in March 2023.
