Medical Board revokes license of second doctor at controversial pain clinic

The Ohio Medical Board voted to permanently revoke the medical license of Dr. Robert Geiger.

STOW, Ohio -- The Ohio Medical Board voted to permanently revoke the medical license of Dr. Robert Geiger.

The action was based on the doctor's failure to report to the board the inappropriate sexual conduct of his former partner, Dr. James Bressi.

The board said Geiger knew for almost three years that Bressi was accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with his female patients during medical examinations.

Bressi owned Summit Pain Specialists in Stow along with Geiger.

The board said Geiger turned a blind eye to Bressi's misconduct and found that he was complicit in Bressi's continued sexual assault of female patients.

"Dr. Geiger put his practice, his partner, and his financial security ahead of patient safety," said the board.

The board's order of permanent license revocation went into effect on March 10.

Bressi was convicted of one count of sexual imposition, but he was cleared of 26 other charges, including rape.

He was sentenced to jail.

WKYC Channel 3 news producer Phil Trexler and WKYC videographer Mike Leonard tried to talk with Geiger, but a receptionist said Geiger wasn't at the clinic and ordered them to leave the office.
