Judge rules Grafton Township bar can continue live outdoor performances amid complaints over loud music

The Jailhouse Taverne will now hold performances on either Friday or Saturday, with the music going no later than 10:00 p.m.

GRAFTON, Ohio — A judge has ruled a Grafton Township bar can continue its live outdoor performances after a two year battle with the township over complaints of loud music.

The ruling is a victory for Jailhouse Taverne after the township filed an injunction earlier this month against the bar, which shut the live shows down. In 2017, the township created a noise ordinance, which banned noise that can be heard at 100 feet and beyond, in response to residents complaints over loud music.

Brian Wolbers, a managing partner at Jailhouse Taverne, says the bar will now hold performances on either Friday or Saturday with the music going no later than 10.00 p.m..

Jailhouse Taverne started holding live outdoor performances in 2016. The concerts are between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
