MENTOR, Ohio — The city of Mentor on Tuesday announced that the 2019 Mentor Headlands BeachFest will have to wait another year.
This year's festival, scheduled for July 20, has been canceled due to conditions at the state park. The city says the Ohio Department of Natural Resources determined that the beach and parking lot conditions would be unsuitable for hosting the event.
Parts of the park have been underwater due to heavy rain and flooding. The parking lot was closed earlier this month due to high water, and portions of the beach disappeared.
The city is still planning to hold the event in 2020.
