Following a 15-0 season and a Division VI state championship, Kirtland head coach Tiger LaVerde was named the Cleveland Browns High School Football Coach of the Year, earning him a trip to this weekend's NFL Pro Bowl in Orlando.
But LaVerde wasn't the only Hornet who made the trip: Lineman Jack Bailey went with him, and took part in Friday's Play Football High School Skills Showdown.
Not only did Jack take part, he won his event on the bench press, doing 22 reps at 225 pounds to edge the runners-up by one. NFL vice president of youth and high school football development Roman Oben posted video of the triumph on Twitter.
Jack, a senior, will continue his football career at Kent State next fall.
