CLEVELAND — Legacy runner Jim Mackert made history on Sunday.
At 82-years-old, the Elyria native became the only person to have ever run in all 42 Cleveland Marathons.
He was the last person to cross the finish line, but there was nothing but pure joy across his face as he took his last few strides with his two grown sons right beside him.
His unofficial time was 7:42:33.
Today's finish means Mackert has completed 66 marathons in his lifetime, including three in Boston.
We caught up with Jim at the finish line where his whole family was waiting.
"I'm very pleased to be here and healthy. Look at my family here! It's fantastic," Mackert said. "I'm just thankful to finish and be healthy."
