17-year-old shot twice in the hand in University Heights

Officers say that the teen is in stable condition.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — A 17-year-old is recovering today after being shot twice in the hand on Saturday night in University Heights. 

According to University Heights PD, the incident happened in the 13500 block of Cedar Road around 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 30.

Dispatchers first believed that the teen was shot in the head, but upon arrival at the scene, they found the young male victim shot in the hand just outside of his residence in the city. 

UHPD says that the victim is currently at a local hospital and is in stable condition. 

Officials believe that the incident was not random and a full investigation is underway, at this time.
