ASHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — Ohio State Troopers are investigating a crash that seriously injured a 19-year-old man early Sunday morning.
Police say a 2000 Lexus SUV, driven by Michael Richardson, was traveling east bound on State Route 302 when it went off the road, striking a utility pole and overturning into a ravine. The crash occurred just after 3 a.m.
19-year-old Richardson, of Polk ,Ohio, sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown to Cleveland MetroHealth Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
State Route 302 between Township Road 251 and County Road 175 was closed for a short time while officials with Ohio Edison repaired the utility pole.
Several agencies responded to the crash scene to assist including, the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Polk Jackson Fire and EMS and Metro Life Flight.
