Former Cleveland Indians All-Star catcher Ray Fosse dies at 74
Ray Fosse, who for a short but memorable time established himself as one of the most beloved players in Cleveland Indians history, has died following a 16-year battle with cancer.
The Oakland Athletics, whom Fosse also played for and who later hired him as a television broadcaster, confirmed his passing Wednesday night. He was 74 years old.
Ohio releases 2020-2021 school report cards: Check your district
The annual school report cards that evaluate achievement and progress at districts throughout Ohio were released Thursday – but there are some changes again this year.
As it was done with last year's report cards, the Ohio Department of Education has abbreviated the 2020-2021 report, which will “not contain overall grades for any districts or buildings” due to “continued challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Cleveland Clinic releases new COVID breakthrough data: 15% of new cases in September were breakthrough infections
The Cleveland Clinic says 15 percent of all new COVID cases they saw in September were breakthrough infections – meaning those who tested positive were fully vaccinated.
“While no vaccine is 100 percent effective and we expect to see some breakthrough cases, the far majority of new cases we are seeing are still occurring in those who are unvaccinated,” Cleveland Clinic officials said in an e-mail Thursday morning.
