The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center has been awarded $45, 803.57 in grant funding, along with 27 other centers, from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine.
The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center supports survivors of rape and sexual abuse, promotes healing and prevention and creates social change, according to its mission statement.
Started in 1974, it now provides 24-hour services to survivors of rape and sexual abuse in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Ashtabula counties. To reach the Rape Crisis Hotline, call/text: (216) 619-6192 or (440) 423-2020.
The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center main office is in the Halle Building at 1228 Euclid Avenue. There are multiple satellite locations available to help.
In all, the centers will receive more than $1.4 million in grant funding The $1,424,999.96 in funding is provided from Ohio's Rape Crisis Program Trust Fund, administered by the Ohio Attorney General's Office.
"We owe it to survivors of sexual assault to make sure they receive comprehensive support after an attack," said Ohio Attorney General DeWine, according to the release.
"These funds will go toward helping agencies across the state to provide quality, compassionate care to those who need it."

In addition, a $142,500 statewide training grant, which is available only to agencies that are federally-recognized statewide sexual assault coalitions, was awarded to the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence.
