Officials say that Fowler and Quarterman got into a fight with Patterson at a convenience store on Copley Road in Akron in July 2022.
Patterson's nephew broke up the fight and dropped him off about a block away. Moments later, Fowler and Quarterman drove by, ran Patterson over and shot and killed him.
Fowler was arrested quickly after the shooting, but Quarterman was not detained until Sept. 2022 in upstate New York by U.S. Marshals.
Fowler will be eligible for parole in 18 years, while Quarterman will be eligible in 25 years.
