AKRON, Ohio — An investigation is underway after a 25-year-old woman was seriously injured in Akron after being allegedly assaulted.
Akron police officials say the incident happened at around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday at a residence in the 900 block of Lawton Street.
Upon arriving, officers found the woman unconscious with "significant" head and facial injuries. The victim was taken by EMS to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, where she is in serious, but stable condition.
At this time, Akron police investigators are working to determine the circumstances around the attack and who is responsible.
