AKRON, Ohio — Thirty tombstones were damaged at an Akron church cemetery after a car crashed into the cemetery.
According to a Facebook post by St. Bernard Catholic Church, the crash happened Saturday morning. The church says a driver lost control of their car and crashed into a power line before rolling "a few times" through a fence and into the cemetery.
According to the church, the driver walked away from the crash no one was injured as a result of the accident.
St. Bernard's says the fence was damaged as well as 30 headstones. The church will work with Catholic Cemeteries of Cleveland and the offices of the Cleveland Diocese to help recover and reestablish the tombstones.
"This will make cemetery cleaning morning next Saturday go a little bit differently!" the church's post read.
