A man is in critical condition after being shot in Akron overnight Friday, police said.
According to the Akron Police Department, officers found a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest in the 1800 block of Merriman Road around 12 a.m.
The man, who was not identified by police, was taken to an Akron hospital where his condition is currently listed as "critical," police said.
Akron police are investigating the shooting and did not provide any details about any potential suspects.
