39-year-old man shot outside bar in Akron following alleged altercation

AKRON, Ohio — An investigation is underway after a 39-year-old man was injured during a shooting in Akron on Thursday morning.

Akron police say they found the victim with a gunshot wound to both legs outside of Johnny Ray's bar in the 1300 block of West Waterloo Road. 

The victim was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, where he is being treated for injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.

A caller told police that there was an altercation outside the bar between the victim and two unidentified men. The witness says that one of the men shot the victim and fled the scene in a "dark-colored vehicle."
