AKRON, Ohio — A 31-year-old man is facing a felonious assault charge after a shooting Wednesday night at a residence in the 2600 block of Nesmith Lake Boulevard in Akron.
Upon arriving, Akron police located the suspect, later identified as Ryan Schafer, still on the scene.
Officers immediately arrested Schafer and provided emergency aid to the victim, a 30-year-old man.
The victim was taken to a hospital in Akron, where he underwent surgery. According to Akron police, the victim is in serious condition.
Schafer was interviewed by detectives and booked in the Summit County Jail.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
