Akron bar fight leads to several shots fired; suspect arrested

The victim's condition is not known.

Akron police have arrested a 29-year-old man after a bar fight allegedly led to him shooting someone in the back.

Authorities say Charles A. Shinn was inside the Park Place Lounge on Aster Ave. around 3:30 a.m. Sunday when he got into a fight with a 39-year-old man. Following the scuffle, Shinn allegedly left the bar for his apartment (also on Aster), where he obtained a .45 caliber pistol. He later returned to the bar and fired several shots at the victim, whom officers found on the ground outside with a gunshot wound to his back.

Shinn is currently in custody at the Summit County Jail facing felonious assault charges. Investigators say they recovered the gun from his apartment. The victim's condition is not known.
