AKRON, Ohio — A Stow teen was killed in an overnight crash in Akron early Wednesday.
It happened on Gorge Boulevard near E. Tallmadge Avenue around 1:10 a.m. The Summit County Medical Examiner says 18-year-old Noah J. Ross was speeding in the northbound lane when he lost control of his 2013 Ford Fusion, drove off the road and hit a curb. The car then struck several signs, hit a utility pole and rolled over several times.
The medical examiner says Ross died at the scene.
Akron police say the car's airbags deployed, but Ross was not wearing a seatbelt during the crash. Speed is believed to have been a factor.
