AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect involved in a double shooting that happened around 12:30 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of East Avenue.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers reported seeing one shooting victim inside a vehicle leaving the area “presumably heading toward the hospital.”

Officers followed the car to Cleveland Clinic Akron General where they found two men – ages 24 and 25 – inside the vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police say both victims had non-life threatening injuries.

“Based on preliminary information, an unknown male suspect, reportedly wearing a ski mask, fired multiple shots striking the victims and fled the scene,” Akron police said in a press release Tuesday morning. “Officers searched the area and located evidence linked to the crime.”

No additional details were immediately available.

Anybody with information is asked to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490 or the Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS.
