AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Fire Department is investigating a house fire that left a family displaced and one firefighter injured, the department confirmed in a press release.

It was just before 3:30 a.m. on Dodge Avenue when crews were called to the scene of the house fire. Smoke could be seen coming from the attic, the release said.

By 3:45 a.m., the fire was out, thanks to more than 10 Akron firetrucks that responded. However, the four people who lived in the home are now being assisted by the Red Cross.

One Akron firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but authorities did not elaborate.

Further details about the fire were not immediately released. Stick with 3News for updates as they become available.
