The Akron School Board announced Monday that a new learning center would be named in honor of a boy tragically killed 13 years ago.
The learning resource center at Glover Community Learning Center will be named the Tony Swain Learning resource center.
Tony Swain was killed while walking his sister to school in 2005.
According to the district, the driver ignored a crossing guards commands to stop. Tony pushed his sister out of the way, subjecting himself to the car's full impact.
Officials say the driver of the car that hit Tony, never stopped and was never caught.
